About Our Media Center

The Crump Elementary Media Center is a cozy and comfortable place where students can explore the wonders of reading!
We operate on an Open/Flex schedule. Classes visit the media center once a week on a scheduled basis to check out books. Individual students make additional visits to the media center during flex time. Books may be checked out for one week and renewed as needed.
*The student is responsible for returning the book(s) they have checked out.
*If the book is not returned within one week, an overdue notice will be issued to the student from the media specialist.
*The student will not be allowed to borrow any more books until the overdue book is returned.
* Lost books should be paid for (replacement fee) or replaced with a new copy of the book.
Checkout Policy
K-1st grade: one book
2nd grade: two books
3rd - 5th: three books
Lost or Damaged Books:
Every effort will be made to provide access to resources in the media center. Students are taught to be responsible and will be held accountable for lost and/or damaged books. Books that are lost or damaged are subject to a replacement fee. Failure to locate the books will result in charges for the replacement cost of the lost book(s).

Flexible scheduling allows students and staff the best possible access to the facility, its staff, and its resources.

Crump Elementary Media Center will ensure that all students and staff are effective users of information by providing flexible access to library resources and creating a curriculum that is relevant to classroom instruction and aligned with state standards.
